NUIM/KPMG ACCOUNTING PRIZE WINNER

Brian Forristal, Callan, County Kilkenny, has won the prestigious NUI Maynooth KPMG First Year Accounting Prize, which was presented at the University’s recent Accounting Showcase organised by the Department of Economics.
The Showcase provided an opportunity for the University’s BA Finance and Accounting and BA Finance students to meet the largest employers in the accounting profession and the four main professional bodies. It also enabled the University to showcase its students.
The four accounting institutes, ICAI, ACCA, CIMA and CPA, as well as PWC, KPMG, Deloittes, E&Y and Mazars, attended.
The event, which was opened by Economics Department Head Professor Donal O’Neill, featured two guest speakers, former NUIM graduates Rory Collins, Maynooth who is with Ulster Bank, and Jennifer Archbold, Leixlip who is with AITI. Each spoke about their experiences of pursuing an accounting career.
