Frank Fitzmaurice was appointed to the post of Director of Corporate Services at NUI Maynooth in mid-December. He joins from Meath County Council where he has led the successful implementation of the county’s Investment Promotion campaign since 2003. This campaign attracted over 1,100 new jobs (including the fiercely contested Quinn Direct project), produced a unique Skills Database which currently holds details of over 3,300 commuters, secured a multimillion euro broadband investment package and generated a new perception of Meath as a business location. Meath County Council’s campaign was selected as the 2006 Irish winner of the EU Enterprise Awards Scheme, operated in this country by Enterprise Ireland.
